Need to vent

So this afternoon Gary and I decided to take Isaac to Murray park to walk around while the sun was out. Of course Isaac ran straight for the playground where all the school kids were playing since school had just ended for the day. Anyway, we let him just play with the other kids for a few minutes. He immediately went and was watching 3 older boys play with a bouncy ball. As usual Isaac was carrying his little football. All of a sudden one of the boys, probably around kindergarten or first grade, came up and kicked Isaac in the chest where he was holding the football. I immediately ran and grabbed the boy by his arm and told him that was wrong and he needed to say he was sorry. I had to repeat myself 2 or 3 times, because he just stood there. After he said he was sorry I asked if his mom was there and the older brother said yes. I told him to go and tell his mom that he just kicked a little boy. Gary came over and we made sure that Isaac was fine. While he was walking to his mom he apparently told her that I pushed him and she started to yell at me. Well everyone knows I am not the type to just back down while being yelled at and I told her what the real story was. I was so furious because she wasn't even watching her children. She was on the other side of the playground talking. I get so mad when parents don't pay attention to their children. Boys will be boys and I know he was probably trying to kick the football, but that made me so mad!!!

Game Night

Isaac had so much fun playing with our Uno game, so here is a short video of his reaction. We did this for over 30 minutes. His laugh just made me laugh!

Fall Time

The weather was beautiful today so our playgroup decided to go to the zoo before the cold weather kicks in. The kids had a great time and of course Isaac fell asleep on the way home. He was having such a great time playing on the playground and seeing the animals.

This morning after the bath I let Isaac run "free" so I could get ready. I came out of the bedroom to see him sitting in the rocking chair drinking his juice and holding his football. He is all BOY!He called me into his room the other day and I couldn't figure out why he was yelling. So of course I grabbed the camera and he stopped yelling to say cheese.

On Sunday we went up City Creek Canyon with some friends for a wonderful afternoon hike. The leaves were very beautiful even after the rain storms Saturday and Sunday morning. Isaac had fun running up the mountain with Madi and Lauren. He came home and crashed for a 3 hour nap!

Yes, we had to stop to pick up rocks. Most of the time they ended up in his mouth.
I was cleaning out the trunk of my car and found his floaty from the pool this summer. So he wanted me to blow it up and then later on he climbed up on the couch (while still wearing the fish) and asked to watch "Nemo". How can you refuse such a cute face!

Tomatoes Galore!

So after planting over 30 plants we have now come to - what do you do with all of those tomatoes. They started turning red just a few at a time and I was able to keep up with them and then the weather cooled down a bit and they all are ripening at the same time. This was a weeks worth of tomatoes - yes only one week. My sink was full and it took me about 4 hours to take care of all of them. I made 2 batches of salsa, 12 (1gallon) bags full of spaghetti sauce, and about 6 bags of cut tomatoes. I am really done with tomatoes right now and there will be a couple more bags to pick by this weekend. I am very grateful our garden has done so well, but I won't plant that many again. Right now our freezer is full of tomatoes and I know it will be nice in the winter.

DisneyWorld

We had such a great time. We were very worried about Hurricane Ike, but lucky for us it didn't hit Florida. The weather was very hot though upper 90's with lots of humidity. After a couple days we finally got used to the weather and had a good time. So there are going to be lots of pictures, but that is what happens after 7 days on a trip! Isaac did great on the plane ride down and he even slept for an hour. We flew non-stop into Tampa and then rented a car to drive to Orlando. We stayed at a great hotel (thanks Theresa) and it was right across the street from a Wal-mart which was great for getting snacks for the parks.
The first day we went to Epcot. It was really nice walking around and looking at all the different countries. We did all the rides that Isaac could go on and at the end we took his pictures with the characters. He was so excited to see Mickey Mouse or "ickey Mouse" is how Isaac pronounces it.
The second day we went to the Magic Kingdom. After trying to hold Isaac in all the lines we went to Wal-mart and purchased a monkey backpack that has a tail for the parents to hold on to. It was a life saver and I highly recommend it. He thought it was so cool to have a monkey on his back!
This is his first monorail ride. He was so excited to go on a train.
We did the merry-go-round several times and that might have been his favorite ride. When we went on the cars we let Isaac take control of the wheel. He would crack up anytime the car hit the rail and bounce you to the other side of the car. We hit so hard our seatbelt came undone. But there was no way he would let us touch the wheel it was his turn for driving.
He gave Minnie Mouse a kiss.

The 3rd day we went to the Animal Kingdom. The was the most humid day so we didn't take too many pictures. Isaac really enjoyed seeing all the animals and it was fun to go on the safari ride. We were able to see the rhinos up close since they were in the road and we had to wait for them to get out of the way.

Isaac was so cute at the petting zoo. He loved petting the goats and would go up to the faces and tell them hello. He even gave one of them a kiss. I was completely grossed out on the other hand and we hit the sink after that attraction. We took a break from the parks on Wednesday and just hung around. We went shopping at the outlet mall and in the evening we went to downtown disney.

Thursday we went to the Hollywood Studious (formerly the MGM studios). It was really nice and relaxing to sit back and watch the shows. They had a show with Playtime Disney that he loved.
On our last day we did the Magic Kingdom again and rode all the rides again.
On Friday night, I gave Isaac some crayons to color with on his coloring book. He played with them for a while and then got up and was playing with his other toys. While I wasn't playing close attention, my child decided to color the door. So we tried to get it off with soap and water and we even "borrowed" the windex from the cleaning lady's cart. Of course that just made it worse so I called Bronwyn to see if she had any suggestions. So the next morning I ran to Wal-mart and purchased a Magic Eraser and thankfully that did the job. When I asked Isaac what he did wrong he just told me that it was naughty!!! Here is his "artwork."
It was so nice to have a week of relaxation and we will get to do it again for 5 days in the future because we bought a 10 day no expiration pass to split with my parents because they will be there next month, but come to find out they are now doing fingerprinting with the tickets so you can't share passes anymore. That would have been nice to know before speding $930 on 2 tickets! At least we know where we can go for our next big vacation.

I do "SELF"

So Isaac is a very independent 2 year old and likes to do everything 'self'. Sometimes this is nice that he wants to do it by himself, but it usually ends up taking much longer and much messier. I made spaghetti and this is the result of him feeding himself. He decided to try and lick the bowl after he was done which resulted in the sauce on his forehead. He is so much fun!
We also went to our first Utah game and they played great - in the second half. We had a lot of fun and Isaac was really good. We found uncle Ryan at halftime and that was nice to get up and walk around.

The triathlon and Isaac turns 2!

So my little boy is 2. He has grown up so fast. He has such a sweet personality and is very happy. He is very smart and knows his ABC's, can count to 8 and is very athletic. We are wrapping up the baseball season and moving on to football. Oh and we are throwing a little bit of tennis in there, too! We had a fun little birthday party with family and here are some pictures. I made a merry-go-round cake and it turned out pretty cute. So I complete the triathlon. I did great at the swimming part and even passed a couple people in the water. The biking was okay and I learned that you really need a road bike and not a mountain bike for competition. The running was fine, but I was pretty tired by the end of it. It took me 48 minutes to complete the whole thing. That was an average time, but I didn't quit (although I really wanted to halfway through). I had talked my friend Erin into doing the triathlon with me and that was a lot of fun. Here are a couple pics.
