Ready, Set, Garden

So we planted the garden this week and I think we have over done it. This year we decided to start our plants from seed inside the house. Almost everything grew and they took over our kitchen table. Then I had to transplant them into larger pots and that started to get crazy, because I didn't have enough larger pots for all the plants. We also decided to purchase some plants from the store in case ours didn't survive my TLC. Well Gary decided to purchase 36 plants including the numerous ones that we grew. Anyway I will have to post a picture once things start growing. The only plants that you can see with the camera are the corn. We have all sorts of tomatoes (probably about 30 plants total), beans, peppers, sunflowers and corn.

Memorial Day Weekend

So despite the cooler weather we decided to go to the cabin instead of camping. It was so nice to get out of town for a night. We went on a short walk (mainly it was short because Isaac was more interested in throwing rocks than walking). I was trying to take some pictures of him, but he refuses to look at the camera for longer than a split second. He is just too busy checking things out. After we got home we decided to go back to Red Butte Gardens to really walk while Isaac was in the stroller. I had planned on planting my garden today, but we have been rained out!!! So my goal is to have it planted by Friday.

Sprinkler Fun

So after hearing how much fun Isaac had in the sprinklers I let him run through the water - while I had the camera ready. Here are some of the pictures.

Boys will be boys

So I have to tell you how my sweet husband takes care of Isaac while I am at work. Yesterday after Gary picked up Isaac they headed to Wal-mart. When Gary was putting Isaac back in the car he realized that Isaac had peed through his diaper and shorts. So instead of changing him at home Gary decided to turn on the hose and let Isaac run through the sprinkler. After about 10 minutes of Isaac playing - Gary started to paint the shutters on the house. Once he was done he checked on Isaac and noticed he was sitting in a pile of mud - still playing with the water. So Gary took him inside and gave him a bath. Since they hadn't had dinner yet - Gary fed Isaac pasta in the bath so he wouldn't get dirty again. They also had a cookie in the bath tub to top it off. They had a lot of fun and it wore Isaac out because he was already asleep when I got home from work at 9. Well needless to say there are spices and cookie crumbs still in the tub. I think it is so funny what Gary thinks of with Isaac. Sorry no pictures to post - mom wasn't home to take them.

Date Night

Well I was supposed to work Friday, but they canceled me so I took advantage of the babysitting I had. Gary and I went and saw the movie Prince Caspian. I liked it, but Gary said the book is so much better. So he was disappointed. We then went to Target and I actually got to try clothes on without chasing Isaac around. Of course we came home with stuff for Isaac and no one else. It was nice to have a break. We then watched the Jazz game, but unfortunately they couldn't pull off a win. Maybe next year.

Bike ride

So with the high prices of gas Gary decided to buy a bike seat for Isaac so we could ride our bikes instead of driving. Isaac loved every minute of it. When we got to the park he didn't want out. So I will be getting lots of practice at riding my bike.

Like Father Like Son

So we were watching a movie the other night and when I came in from the kitchen this is how Gary and Isaac were sitting. Isaac always relaxes with his arms behind his head. He even sits like that in his carseat.

Goosed

We went to feed the ducks, seagulls, geese and any other bird that was at Sugarhouse park with Isaac and some friends. They had stopped to get bread for us to share. The minute you bring out the food the birds swarm you. I am not a big fan of birds so I was hiding behind Gary. After a few minutes I had relaxed and ventured out from behind him and started throwing the bread to the ducks. A couple of seagulls took flight right toward me and of course I ducked and ran. While I then turned into the entertainment the story gets better. After 10 minutes the geese started to come around us and I had several in front of and behind me. My sweet husband decided to pinch me pretending to be a goose and I jumped so high. It was pretty hilarious and he actually felt bad because it scared me. Needless to say I am done feeding the ducks!!!
