Happy Birthday Isaac!!

So my little boy is now 3! We had a fun day and I made him a train birthday cake. The first one didn't turn out so well, so this was cake #2. We had some friends over and he had a great time. He got lots of fun new toys and is enjoying his new Hungry Hungry Hippo game. One of his friends gave him some playdoh and he thinks the day is DOH because he asks if he can play - doh. It is really cute. He is doing pretty well at potty training so we are finally pushing it. My new camera should arrive today so sorry the pictures are from my camera phone. We love you, Isaac!!!!

Getting settled

We are down to just a couple of boxes left to unpack and getting aquainted with the city. They finally brought our washer and dryer yesterday after having to send back the scratch and dent ones they tried to bring last week. Hopefully by tonight we can do a load of laundry. Gary is still having some problems getting on insurance so he is a little stressed out about that. We have decided to wait and buy a 2nd car when they get the 2010 shipment in later this month. I have found a nice playgroup and we went to the children's museum today. Isaac really enjoyed playing with other kids and I met a lot of nice moms. I had a sad weekend, but am doing much better now. If we had another car I might have driven back home! There is a really nice walking path that goes along the river so here are some pictures from our adventures.Gary finally got a new lawnmower and Isaac just had to help him. Here is the backyard, ignore the dead grass.

Yakima

So we arrived last Saturday and had the truck unloaded in 2 hours. It was 106 degrees later in the afternoon so we worked on putting things together inside the house. Gary ended up waiting one week before starting work so we were able to get the house pretty much put together this past week. We don't have pictures up yet, but that will come with time. Isaac is enjoying his new big boy bed and we are still working on potty training. I am really going to push it this week since I don't have a car to drive anywhere. Sarah is loving her crib and I am enjoying the fact that she sleeps through the night most of the time. Here are some pictures of the house - you have to ignore the messes in the pictures though. Here is the kitchen. We just ordered new countertops and a new dishwasher. The living room - we are still deciding on where to put the TV?The main bathroom upstairs. We want to change it back into two bathrooms.Isaac's bedroom.Master bedroom - Sarah's crib and computer desk.
Master bedroom - our bed and doors that lead to the deck outside.

I don't have pictures of the basement yet, but it is a big unfinished room. I will post pics of our newly remodeled kitchen once it is completed. My new washer and dryer come this week. It will be nice, because the laundry pile is getting big. I hope everyone is doing well. We miss our friends and family a lot!

Quick update

We have been very busy this month. Gary has taken the month off after residency and we have had so much fun. It has been nice having him home. We went up to Yakima to look for a home and after a very long weekend we found 2 homes that we liked. We put in offers on both and we didn't accept any of the counter offers so we then found an apartment to rent for 6 months. The night before we were to confirm our realtor called and said the one house had come back with a lower offer - so we countered their offer and we are now homeowners! I will post pictures once I take some. There is a little bit of remodeling to do, but overall it will be nice to own a home. Sarah is getting so big and she is sleeping through the night!!! Isaac is so cute with her and if she starts crying he goes over to her and says, "It's okay pretty girl." He has had fun playing baseball this summer and refuses to hit the ball from the T-ball stand - you have to pitch it to him. We have a little athlete on our hands. We are going to miss all our friends so much and since we have a home with extra bedrooms we would love to have visitors!!!

Congratulations Gary!

Tuesday was Gary's last day of residency. He is now officially done. I am so proud of him and all his hard work. It has been a long 7 years, but I am so glad we have been able to do this together. The residency had a very nice dinner at a wonderful restaurant and I want to thank Grandma and Grandpa Oaks and Stephanie for watching the kids so we could enjoy it. So we are getting ready for our next adventure and are moving to Yakima, Washington. Gary has a great opportunity up there so we are looking forward to that. Here are some pictures from the dinner.
The 3 graduating residents and their director:Deep, Eric, Gary and Dr. Young All the residents.
I couldn't put a post without a picture of my cute kids. Isaac was holding her head while watching his show.

One month old already

So we have been adjusting to two children at home and overall everything has been going well. Our sweet little one is getting big fast. At her 3 week check up she weighed in at 8 lbs and 11 oz (that's gaining 2 lbs in 3 weeks). She likes to eat every 3 hours. She is still the same length at 20.5 inches.

Isaac has been a pretty good big brother with only a couple minor incidents. We are working on being SOFT.

We have enjoyed our Red Butte Garden membership so here are several pictures from our latest adventures. Sadly our pass expired in May and we will really miss it.

Isaac has been playing soccer on Fridays and he really enjoys it. Gary took his boards and lets just say we are glad that is over. Our next adventure is packing and moving in July. Enjoy the pictures.
