More water fun

We had playgroup at Liberty Park this week which has a great water park called the 7 canyons. It mimicks the canyons in the SL Valley and they all lead into the "Great Salt Lake" It is really cute and the children have a ton of fun. We were there at 10 am in the morning and it was already busy.

This is the Great Salt Lake. Maybe 2 feet deep.

This was Isaac at the end of the day eating dinner. He had so much fun during the day that he was worn out.

Water Time

We went to Red Butte Gardens with some friends this week and here are some pictures of Isaac playing in the water. This water fountain is great because it only come waist high.

They had several snakes that would shoot water. Isaac thought it was so much fun until he got hit with the water.

Here is Isaac enjoying a chocolate pudding pop. He loved it and I knew ahead of time to take his clothes off, so he is having fun just in his diaper.

Gary thinks these pictures are disgusting, but Isaac didn't mind at all. When he was all done he decided to play with his bat and ball.

Isaac's new game is darts. He is getting pretty good at hitting the board. It gets carried inside every time we go inside too.

Capital Reef and Escalante

So here are some pictures from our camping trip. We had a really nice time. We went to Capital Reef the first night and then we drove through Dixie National Forest with a summit of over 9000 feet on our way to Escalante. We did several different hikes but Calf Creek was our favorite. We went with my cousin Laurie, her husband Clay and their son Miles. We had lots of fun and camping is definitely more fun with lots of people to share it with.
After 1.5 hours of hiking we finally got to the falls. It was worth the 3 miles in.

The water was very cold, but that didn't stop Isaac. He kept putting his hands in the water and then he would look at me and say "COLD" and then do it again.
So his hat blew off into this little pool and Gary went to get it. Isaac decided to try to get it too! He ended up completely under the water. We had a spare diaper, but we didn't have any dry clothes. Luckily it was warm enough that his clothes were mostly dry by the time we started to head back to the trail.
Just taking a break and enjoying the cool shade.
This is in Dixie National Forest. It had such a gorgeous view. It was about 20 degrees cooler at the top.
Isaac had so much fun at the campground. We were very thankful for the water to entertain him. He spent a couple hours on the dock just throwing the rocks into the water.

Ready, Set, Garden

So we planted the garden this week and I think we have over done it. This year we decided to start our plants from seed inside the house. Almost everything grew and they took over our kitchen table. Then I had to transplant them into larger pots and that started to get crazy, because I didn't have enough larger pots for all the plants. We also decided to purchase some plants from the store in case ours didn't survive my TLC. Well Gary decided to purchase 36 plants including the numerous ones that we grew. Anyway I will have to post a picture once things start growing. The only plants that you can see with the camera are the corn. We have all sorts of tomatoes (probably about 30 plants total), beans, peppers, sunflowers and corn.

Memorial Day Weekend

So despite the cooler weather we decided to go to the cabin instead of camping. It was so nice to get out of town for a night. We went on a short walk (mainly it was short because Isaac was more interested in throwing rocks than walking). I was trying to take some pictures of him, but he refuses to look at the camera for longer than a split second. He is just too busy checking things out. After we got home we decided to go back to Red Butte Gardens to really walk while Isaac was in the stroller. I had planned on planting my garden today, but we have been rained out!!! So my goal is to have it planted by Friday.
