Capital Reef and Escalante

So here are some pictures from our camping trip. We had a really nice time. We went to Capital Reef the first night and then we drove through Dixie National Forest with a summit of over 9000 feet on our way to Escalante. We did several different hikes but Calf Creek was our favorite. We went with my cousin Laurie, her husband Clay and their son Miles. We had lots of fun and camping is definitely more fun with lots of people to share it with.
After 1.5 hours of hiking we finally got to the falls. It was worth the 3 miles in.

The water was very cold, but that didn't stop Isaac. He kept putting his hands in the water and then he would look at me and say "COLD" and then do it again.
So his hat blew off into this little pool and Gary went to get it. Isaac decided to try to get it too! He ended up completely under the water. We had a spare diaper, but we didn't have any dry clothes. Luckily it was warm enough that his clothes were mostly dry by the time we started to head back to the trail.
Just taking a break and enjoying the cool shade.
This is in Dixie National Forest. It had such a gorgeous view. It was about 20 degrees cooler at the top.
Isaac had so much fun at the campground. We were very thankful for the water to entertain him. He spent a couple hours on the dock just throwing the rocks into the water.

I am most impressed with your pictures. They look professional. It looks so beautiful and what a nice time of the year to go. Mike and I are always trying to plan a camping trip and something always comes up.
Glad you had so much fun!

Looks like it was a great getaway. My friend and her family just got back from hiking Havasupie. Looking at her pic's and now at yours, I think Rivers and I are really going to need to do some more hiking and camping.
