Too Smart for me!

So as we were driving to the gym this morning Isaac shouts out, He's a Pirate. I looked around and asked him to say it again. Then I noticed on the back of a truck a sticker with a skull and crossbones on the back. He was pointing to the sticker and told me that "he was a pirate". I thought that was so cute I just had to share. He is way too creative at times. This also means he knows too much about pirates (probably from Disneyland).

Keeping Busy

So we haven't done anything too exciting lately just trying to keep on top of things. Gary has had a couple of interviews and he flies out next week for four days for a second interview. I will be doing the parenting thing on my own. It has been awhile since we have been apart for more than a day or so. Then he comes home for 2 days and we are off to Disneyland. We are getting excited and Isaac keeps telling me all the characters he gets to see. That is the best part of going to Disneyland and watching their expressions. I am feeling really good (as long as I get my nap in). I had my appointment yesterday and she is measuring 26 cm when I am only 23 weeks along. I don't feel like my stomach is that big so we will see what I measure next month. Isaac has reached a really fun stage - he asks what everything is! It takes forever to read a book now. He wants to know what every word means and if the definition I give is too big then he asks what that is. I love how inquisitive they are.

It's January

So we had a great New Year's Eve and spent the evening with my cousin Laurie and her husband Clay and their son Miles. Isaac had a great time playing and he managed to stay awake till midnight. The dinner was great - thanks Laurie.
I also had a great surprise last Sunday when my good friend, Bronwyn called and said they were in town from Pennsylvania. They drove 36 hours across the country to see their family for Christmas. It was so nice to see them again. It had been 3 years since we have seen each other. Someday we will live within real driving distance from one another.
And of course it wouldn't be normal if we planned a trip without planning one to Disneyland. So we are headed there in February over the holiday weekend. Anyone is welcome to join us. The airfare was really decent so we would love to have company!

Last day of 2008

We have had a wonderful holiday season and it was so much fun watching Isaac opening his presents. He was so cute with each present and he wanted us to open everything the minute it was unwrapped. He made out with several Thomas the train engines, track and cars from the Disney movie, Cars. He has played so well with his new toys. He especially loves riding his new scooter around the house. We were able to spend a lot of time with family and enjoyed that. We want to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

Trying to get Isaac to sing Silent Night.

You will need to turn the volume way up. This is one of the many takes. He kept running to the camera to see what he had done.

Almost Ready

So I am almost ready for Christmas. Gary and I wrapped all the gifts up and let Isaac play with the wrapping paper tubes once we were done. He had so much fun and so did we. Here are some pictures of the war and singing into the tube.
Isaac is excited for Santa to come even though he refused to sit on his lap. He just tells everyone that Santa is going to bring him presents and trains. I am really excited to see him with the gifts this year.
We want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Time to update.

So the weather had been nice up until this weekend when we were hit with a pretty good snow storm. I love the storms here though because after it snows the sun usually comes out and most of the snow on the streets melts away. Isaac had a great time playing in the snow this morning too!
We have enjoyed going to Red Butte Gardens this year and the weather was so nice we didn't even have to wear coats in December. Here are a couple pictures of our outing. On Friday night my work at the U had their Christmas party. I love this party because the food is delicious and it is a fun night out for Gary and I. They bring in a company that sets up casino tables and you get to play with their money and at the end you can cash in your chips for raffle tickets. We headed straight for the craps tables and spent two hours playing. We had one roller who did great and we made a lot of money on that turn. We ended up making money so it was a fun night. Gary won a headlamp for that camping trip we might go on someday.
I also tried to take Isaac to see Santa with his cousins. Well lets just say the coloring book that Santa gave him to sit on the stool was as close as he would get. Clara wouldn't even get that close. I was okay with that because the Santa even scared me. He even answered his cell phone while holding Macey. I might try to go to a different one later. We are excited for the holidays and I know Gary is even more excited to have some vacation after Christmas.
