Happy Birthday Sarah!!!

My Birthday Girl in the cutest outfit from Laurie! This is what her hair looks like right after I do it!

I can't believe my baby girl is now 2. She has grown so much this past year and is so much fun. She has a very strong personality which will be great for her one day - little trying for me right now. We are finally sleeping through the night which makes her so much happier during the day. She absolutely LOVES her brother. She follows him all around the house and if Isaac is doing something she wants to do it to. When asked, "What is your name?" Her response - I Kick (for Isaac). She loves to dance, color (still undecided on right or left hand), must feed herself in a chair, loves Mickey Mouse ( Mic Mou) and loves to play outside. She loves books and is really good at puzzles. I made her a Mickey Mouse cake and it was fun watching her eat the whole thing with a fork - and she did really well! We love you baby girl!

Easter Weekend

We were so busy last weekend and sometimes it is fun to have lot of things to do. We started the week off with coloring Easter eggs. We decided to try something new and actually color the eggs with crayons. It was a lot of fun and way less messy. The trick is to do it when the eggs are nice and hot right out of the water. Isaac got a kick out of coloring them. He was so upset the next morning when Gary went to eat one of them. So funny.

On Saturday morning they had a fun event called Kids Fishin. It costs $7.00 and they get a T-shirt, fishing pole, free bait and 30 minutes to fish in a pond stocked with fish. We did this last year and Isaac was able to catch his 1st fish, but this year we had better luck - no fish for us! Isaac had a great time and I know Gary did too.

After fishing we raced over to an Easter egg hunt. There were several hunts around town and of course they are all at the same time. Luckily it hadn't started yet and the kids had fun. They each gathered several eggs and enjoyed frosting cupcakes and cotton candy. As if there wasn't enough sugar inside the eggs.

That afternoon our friends drove up from Prosser and we enjoyed a nice lunch with them. Isaac and Sarah were able to play with Sydney, Ethan and Isabella and we all enjoyed the sunshine.

That evening (I told you there was lots planned) we had our neighbor come and watch the kids so Gary and I could enjoy a nice evening out. Sadly when we came home we heard that Isaac accidentally threw a frisbee into the window and broke it. It even hit the screen first so he had to have hit the window just right! Thankfully no one was hurt and windows can be replaced!

Easter morning was really fun since the Easter bunny left some great treats. Gary made us a wonderful breakfast. The Easter bunny was figure friendly this year and had fun toys instead of mainly candy. I really liked this idea and will probably keep doing that. Of course Sarah attacked the couple pieces of candy that were in her basket so they were placed out of reach soon after that.

Painting again

So we, well I did, decided to repaint our bedroom. It is a huge room so I wasn't sure what color I wanted to paint it and how to do it. I decided to take a color from the bedspread we bought and go with it. I went with a grey/silver color. It took me a little bit longer than I would have liked but it is done and I really enjoy it. The before pictures were taken after I had already started to tape the baseboards and pull things off the wall but I wanted a before so I could show the after!

Salt Lake Visit

At the end of March Isaac's school was on Spring Break so I decided that I would take the kids back to Salt Lake for a week. We had so much fun playing with cousins and friends. I loved being able to just hang out with Kelly and Laurie. I really miss that!
I also was able to get together with 3 of my friends from high school. It is so fun to see how big the kids get each time we are together. Thanks Jessica for letting us hang out at your place.
Clara and Macey invited Isaac over for his first real sleepover. We all watched Tangled, had some ice cream and let the kids play together. Sarah loved the horse - which is fun to see since that was my horse growing up. Isaac did great till I received a text at 11pm saying they were bringing Isaac back home. I guess their house was "just too dangerous" Okay that is what Isaac told Kelly after he hit his head on the ceiling. That boy cracks me up!

We also had great weather and took advantage of playing with Laurie, Miles and Leah and their fun swingset. Sarah is not a huge fan of swings so she only lasted a short while. But we had fun with all their other toys too. We also made a trip to the zoo, but it was so crowded we didn't stay too long, but we did get a train ride in for the boys.

I was able to see my grandma for a little bit and my great aunt, Lois. It was so nice to see them. We had a wonderful breakfast and I enjoyed talking to them. This is a four generation picture which is wonderful to have!

We also went to the indoor swimming pool which I have really missed while living in Yakima. I love all the fun water toys and the kids loved going down the big slide. Isaac loved going down all by himself after we had to do it with him a couple of times.

Of course we had some down time and hung out with Grandma and Grandpa Oaks for a short while and enjoyed lunch with them. It was fun to see Steve and Annie, Chad, Michelle and their kids too.

Sarah had so much fun playing with Grandpa Love. Every night after I would put her in bed she quietly would climb out of the pack and play and make her way down for some more attention. I know Isaac and Sarah love going to grandma's house because they get spoiled. We had a great time and can't wait for you to come visit us!

Happy Birthday Gary

So for Gary's birthday this year we decided to have a couple friends over and play the Wii. We rented to dance game again and had a great time. I love how Gary has his hand over the kids mouth so they won't blow the candles out till the right time. We love you and hope you had a great day!
