Crazy Weekend

This past weekend was one experience I will laugh at for a long time. I wish I had pictures to capture some of the details, but that wasn't a high priority at the time. So on Friday we decided to go up to the cabin in Heber. We were told that we could get to the cabin with the 4 wheelers so there shouldn't be too much snow. We had invited our friend and her daughter along for a relaxing time. Once we arrived at the bottom of the canyon we realized that there was too much snow to drive up so Gary said he would walk to the cabin and bring a 4 wheeler down to take us up. It is probably a mile up the mountain and if I wasn't so preggo I could have made the hike as well. So after about 30 minutes we decided to let the kids run around while we were waiting for Gary. There were 2 guys taking a bunch of girls up to their cabin and asked if we wanted a ride. So we said sure, since Gary was having a hard time getting the 4 wheelers to work. So there were a couple of patches of deep snow and he got stuck in one section. As this guy is trying to get out of the snow we keep sliding down towards the side of the road (which had a little bit of a drop off). I was in the back seat with Isaac and Addi (not wearing any seatbelts) and started to get a very panic look on my face each time we got closer to the edge. So he called his brother to come and help him get his SUV out of the snow. In the meantime, we are all standing on the side of the road watching the guys work. We decided that we would just walk the rest of the way. So we started to walk and after a couple minutes that guy comes back on a snowmobile to take us up to the cabin. Gary eventually met up with us and took us most of the way. We did a little bit of walking, snowmobiling and 4 wheeling - in the mud! After 2 hours we made it to the cabin and relaxed the rest of the night. The next day we decided to just walk down to our cars. Gary pulled the kids in the sled for most of the way. They only fell out about 4 times and they cried the remaining time. Towards the bottom, Gary had had enough of their crying and they got to walk the rest of the way down. Oh it was such an adventure.
Later on Saturday we went to IFA to get lawn fertilizer and we told Isaac that he was going to see baby chicks, ducks and rabbits. I was holding his hand and took him up to the bin of baby chicks. He immediately started yelling and backing up because they scared him. It was so funny watching his reaction. He did however enjoy petting the rabbits.

Cabin Fever

So we have been so ready to get outside and enjoy warmer weather. This past weekend was pretty nice and so Gary and Isaac had a great time playing baseball. We are still working on the potty training and so Isaac was awarded new baseballs for going on the potty. He is doing pretty well and so I think we should be good to go by the time the new baby arrives. Anyway, here are some fun pictures of my boys playing ball!
This last picture of Isaac playing with his trains. He wakes up most mornings and I find him on his floor playing. It is amazing how fascinated he is with them.

So our good friends, Mark and Holly, always have the most amazing photos taken of their beautiful family and so I asked Holly who was the photographer. She sent me her website and I am passing it along to everyone else. In like a lion!

So this month has been a rough week for us. Gary started his new rotation and it usually takes him about a week to feel good with all the changes and a new doctor to rotate with. I have gone back to the potty training and we have had some successfull days, I just need to be better at making him wear only the big boy pants. I am just tired of washing clothes. I am not too savy on the whole daylight savings time. It took us over an hour to get Isaac to bed last night and then the alarm went off way too early this morning. I do love the daylight later in the evening though.
I had my 27th week check up and everything is going well. I had to do the orange drink test and I don't have gestational diabetes -which is always good. I am measuring 29cm so there is a good chance this little one will arrive in May instead of the first week of June. I am holding onto that especially since Isaac came 12 days early, so we will have to see what happens.
Not much else is going on with us. Gary is still doing interviews and now he has started to study for his final set of boards on June 5th. Good luck babe!

Disneyland

So we were off to a rough start with snow here in Salt Lake, but we were only delayed a half hour so it wasn't too bad. When we arrived in California it was nice and sunny so we decided to head straight for Disneyland. Isaac had a great time and he enjoyed most of the rides. Of course Buzz Lightyear was a favorite and we rode that one at least 10 times. The park was really busy on Valentines Day. Gary and I were kind of surprised, but it was also the holiday weekend. We were only there a couple of hours because it was so busy so we headed back to the hotel to relax. On Sunday we were back riding the rides and spent most of the day there. We left for dinner and returned for my favorite part - the fireworks. Isaac fell asleep after Fantasmic, so Gary and I were able to enjoy them.
This is Isaac yelling "Cheese" while not looking at the camera!Monday rained most of the day so we made a trip to a science center and had a good time. It is always fun to check out other centers with our pass. Then on Tuesday we went back to Disneyland and were there for 9 hours. We had a great time and enjoyed a relaxing vacation. Isaac keeps telling us he wants to go on Buzz and he wants to see Disneyland - so I am sure it won't be too long before we go again.

Too Smart for me!

So as we were driving to the gym this morning Isaac shouts out, He's a Pirate. I looked around and asked him to say it again. Then I noticed on the back of a truck a sticker with a skull and crossbones on the back. He was pointing to the sticker and told me that "he was a pirate". I thought that was so cute I just had to share. He is way too creative at times. This also means he knows too much about pirates (probably from Disneyland).

Keeping Busy

So we haven't done anything too exciting lately just trying to keep on top of things. Gary has had a couple of interviews and he flies out next week for four days for a second interview. I will be doing the parenting thing on my own. It has been awhile since we have been apart for more than a day or so. Then he comes home for 2 days and we are off to Disneyland. We are getting excited and Isaac keeps telling me all the characters he gets to see. That is the best part of going to Disneyland and watching their expressions. I am feeling really good (as long as I get my nap in). I had my appointment yesterday and she is measuring 26 cm when I am only 23 weeks along. I don't feel like my stomach is that big so we will see what I measure next month. Isaac has reached a really fun stage - he asks what everything is! It takes forever to read a book now. He wants to know what every word means and if the definition I give is too big then he asks what that is. I love how inquisitive they are.
