Pumpkin Patch

Behind our house is an open field that has been sold to a developer sadly, but till houses are built the farmer has continued to plant crops.  This year we watched hundreds of cantalope, watermelon and pumpkins grow.  I had been wanting to go and take the kids pictures with my dad's camera and here are the results.  I now know why it requires help with more than one child to take pictures.  The 2nd picture I took of all of them turned out the best.  Here are some additional ones too.

I could not get her to look at me.  So I kept moving to where she was looking, just to have her turn her head.  I started laughing at this point and gave up.  Cute profile!

They were so done by this point, so I was having them say funny words trying to get them to at least look at me.

City Creek Canyon

This was one of our favorite canyons to walk through before we moved to Washington.  We haven't been there as much since we came back, but this fall we knew we needed to go see the pretty leaves.  I forgot the camera so these were taken with my phone.  Not too bad!
It was a gorgeous day.  I just loved the deep red colors of this tree.

This pose fits Sarah - she is so determined to do things herself.  I love it when she puts her hands on her hips like this.

Fall Outing

We decided the first weekend of October to do some exploring.  We drove up Weber Canyon and stopped at a state park.  They had a nice little lake so we decided to walk down to the water.  It was a beautiful day, but it was cold!  So no, we didn't test the water out.
The kids decided to walk up the sand bar to see how far they could go.  Sarah and Isaac did pretty good too, they got stuck at the top and Gary had to go and rescue them.

We made it! Now please help us get down.
 Coming down with Dad.
Next we decided to head up to Snowbasin Ski resort.  The colors were amazing and sadly pictures just don't do it justice.  This was the last weekend they were running the gondola till ski time so we decided to try it out.  Isaac thought it was great.  Sarah was a little more timid about the ride.  Towards the end of it she was having fun.
At the top there was a little walkway so we had fun climbing on the rocks.

Here is the view from the top of the gondola ride.
This is why I missed living in Utah so much.  There is so many fun things to do and it was only 30 min. from our house.

Spotlight on Katie

My Little UTE! Sarah wore this for her first Halloween and I couldn't let this football season go by without having Katie wear it!  She just started sitting up all by herself. Taken 9-15-12

She plays so well with her toys.  I can put her in her room with her basket and she will do great for 30 minutes or so.  When she is done she lets us know or usually her brother or sister end up playing with her too.

So I realized she was already 7 months old and I hadn't done another photo shoot with her. So I tried to do it myself.  Not the best but not too bad either.  We had fun playing with the rocking chair and she loved sitting in the basket.  She has such a twinkle in her eyes when she smiles.  She is so happy and easy going.  We definitely got lucky with this sweet girl!

Birthday Girl

I turned 33 this year and saw this cake from Costco that I wanted to try and I am so glad I did - it was delicious!!! And yes I ate most of it all by myself.  My sweet friend, Janel, sent me some gorgeous flowers.  I treated myself to a pedicure while Isaac and Sarah was at school.  Katie and mommy had some play time.  I had a nice day with my family.

Katie plays so well by herself.  She has enjoyed the exersaucer just like Isaac and Sarah did.  Here she is just having fun.

School Time

Well after waiting one full year to start Kindergarten - it finally happened.  Isaac was so excited for school.  Here he is with his teacher Mrs. Adams.  He loves it and runs in to school everyday.  I know that won't last forever so I enjoy it while I can.  I take him each morning and get a hug, kiss and I love you mom and I get to watch him run to stand in line.  He is such a sweet boy.  He is Mrs. Adams comedian in class.  She stops me every couple of weeks to tell me something funny he said or did.  They feed the kids breakfast every morning and Isaac was the table helper and when he brought the food tray over he said, Hey hungry hungry hippos - let's eat!  Mrs. Adams said she laughed so hard she had to write it on the board.  I miss my special helper at home while he is gone!  In the first month he has already started reading - so exciting!

Baby Katie is just following in on the tradition with sleeping with her hands behind her head.  She is so much fun.

Hooray for PRESCHOOL!  Sarah goes to Rock Creek Preschool twice a week and has Mrs. Tami for her teacher.  She LOVES it.  I got to walk her down to her preschool the first day and after that she gives me a hug and a kiss (like Isaac) and she wants to go by herself the rest of the way.  She wants to be a big girl.  She is so spunky and keeps us on our toes.  I love this big girl!
