Newest Addition

My brother, Steve and his wife Kelly welcomed a baby girl to the family on February 21. She weighed in at 8 lbs. 11 oz and was 22 inches long. It is a good thing the baby came 2 weeks early or she could have been 10 lbs! Her name is Macey Elizabeth. She looks exactly like her big sister.

So sweet

This afternoon Gary was showing me some things on the computer downstairs, so I put on a movie to occupy Isaac. After a few minutes we didn't hear anything (which means he is into trouble). So I came upstairs to check on him. He was just sitting in the chair watching the movie so I went back downstairs. When we were done I came upstairs to find him still in the chair, very unusual for him, but when I peeked around the corner he was fast asleep. He was sitting upright with his head resting on his shoulder. He is just too cute.

Need Ideas!!!

So we have some vacation coming up and we have no idea where to go. We don't want to do anything too expensive, but we would like to go where there is no snow. We have had plenty of that this winter. So we are asking people to tell us their favorite places to go. It can be a camping spot or something else. I know it seems like we have gone a lot of places recently, but when you have vacation time you use it, especially when we don't know if Gary will have any vacation hours after residency. We are looking forward to other people's ideas.

DMV

So yesterday Gary needed to get a new driver's license so Isaac and I went with him to the DMV. After going to 2 wrong locations we finally got to the correct one. In the meantime, Isaac had fallen asleep in the car so I stayed in the car with him till he woke up. After 1.5 hours in the car I needed to use the restroom and Isaac needed a clean diaper. So Gary said he would hold Isaac while I went to the restroom. While I was in the bathroom, my cell rang and Gary said to get out now because Isaac had just peed all over Gary's lap and then he continued to pee on the floor. I thought Gary was just exaggerating until I walked out and saw a pretty good sized puddle on the floor. Needless to say Gary sat at the DMV with the diaper bag on his lap while Isaac and I went back out to the car. One of those stories I just had to share.

Phoenix

We just got back from our trip to Phoenix visiting Gary's brother, Mike and his family. We had such a great time. The weather was so nice and warm. We also drove down to Tuscon to visit Tracy and Amber (friends from Iowa). It was so nice to see them and their 2 girls. Back in Phoenix we went to a ghost town and took a ride down an old mine. Most people are scared of heights, well I found out I don't like going down mine shafts. The tour was pretty interesting though. We also got to see a old town shootout. They have people volunteer and get all dressed up. We also went to the Phoenix zoo and really enjoyed it. They had a neat exhibit for the monkeys that you actually walk into their habitat. The monkeys are all running around you. We also got to feed the elephants. It was so nice to relax and enjoy their company. A new found favorite of mine is the Wii. I really enjoyed playing tennis. We might just have to look into getting one of those. On the way to the airport we stopped out Trader Joes. I have missed that store. The have the best granola and Gary really enjoys their oatmeal raisin cookies. The flight home was nice. Thanks to Mike and Tara for letting us come and stay with you.

Let's Eat

So I made pasta for dinner last night and Isaac is becoming very independent and wants to feed himself. He was such a mess with sauce even on his eyelid, but he did pretty good. I couldn't resist posting these pictures.

January 2008

The weather has been very snowy the last couple of days so I decided to be brave and let Isaac enjoy the snow. After getting him all bundled up and going outside he lasted for about 10 minutes. He couldn't walk in the boots he was wearing so he just sat in the snow. He also took his gloves off and wanted to see what the snow felt like. Needless to say it took longer to get ready to go outside than we ended up staying outside.
