June and July Festivities
We all headed up to the cabin to kick off summer and to do some 4 wheeling with the cousins. Katie wasn't too sure at first but once they got going she loved it. Miss Sarah is really into the game Slap Jack and talked Uncle Mike into playing with her. It was fun watching him play with her.
The last weekend in June there was an air show at Hill Air Force Base, about 10 min away. On Saturday we were able to see some of the show from our driveway. Here are pictures of the Thunderbirds. They were so loud and have traumatized Katie with the noise. Now anytime the Jets fly by she runs to me and covers her ears.
So on Sunday my dad drove up and helped get us on the base with his ID. We got some better pics closer up. I took ear plugs for everyone so they wouldn't be scared of the noise.
Let the 4th of July festivities begin. It started on July 2nd with our neighborhood firework party. It was fun to hang out and let the kids run crazy. I bought some pop its for the kids to try out.
Katie couldn't throw them hard enough for them to pop so we taught her to stomp on them instead.
On Thursday, Mike and Tara and the kids all drove up to have dinner and play. I had more fireworks to light off and that was tons of fun.
The boys had fun with the pop its. Gary was throwing them at Carson and he would hit them like a baseball bat but with his hands.
Let the fireworks begin. Well I bought the bunch from Wal-mart so they weren't anything fancy. But who needs fancy when Mike had given us bottle rockets - years ago - so we decided it was time to light them. The boys thought they were the best.

Sarah enjoyed the sparklers.

Grace with a sparkler!
Jake and Carson having fun too!
Katie didn't quite understand that you can't grab the top of the sparkler. She liked watching them though. The boys had fun with the pop its. Gary was throwing them at Carson and he would hit them like a baseball bat but with his hands.

Summer fun
We started summer with swim lessons and Sarah did amazing. She is definitely my little fish. She and Isaac are now on the same level for lessons.
Isaac jumping off the diving board.
We went to a Pirate and Princess party. The kids had a ton of fun . Isaac is sporting his "pirate earring". He was so scared when this guy asked if he wanted an earring. After telling him it wouldn't hurt he thought it was cool. Sarah had fun meeting the princesses. Katie refused to go near them.
We headed to Liberty Park to play in the 7 canyons fountains. Such a pretty area for the kids to explore.
Miss Katie put this bucket on her head and had to eat dinner with it on. She is so stinking adorable right now. Fun and happy!
We bought Cherry Hill waterpark passes this summer. Best idea we have had in awhile. Very kid friendly and so nice to just go for a couple hours.
Grandma Love gave Katie this outfit for her birthday and she LOVED wearing it. Always fun when Grandpa stops by for a visit.

Happy 5th Birthday Sarah!
This cute little girl has grown up so quickly. It is hard to believe she is already 5 yrs old. For her birthday we went and had her ears pierced. After persuading her to pick pink earrings she was ready to go. She was super brave and she didn't even cry. Gary had a great idea of giving her a candy to suck on - worked great! She loves her new ears. Sarah's birthday fell on Mother's day this year so had a fun celebration together.
She asked for a Frozen cake and I knew it would have been a challenge so I opted for the store bought cake this year. They did an amazing job creating an Elsa cake.
She was spoiled by everyone with nice presents and lots of new clothes. We had a nice dinner with my family all coming up to celebrate.
Sarah is such a fun, outgoing, and determined sweet girl. She definitely keeps me on my toes. She is super excited for Kindergarten next year. She is 53 lbs. and 46" tall. She knows her alphabet and can count to 100. She loves playing with friends and recently learned to ride a bike without training wheels. We love you, Bear!
