They were having races on who could jump the farthest. The scenery is just amazing. This is what I missed so much living away from Utah. Gary wanted to see how high he could toss her in the air. She loved every second of that.
The next trail was to see carvings in the mountain from pioneers back in the 1800's. We found this little archway on our way. Isaac just had to try to climb the rock like dad did.
The kids were really good sports about hiking. We had a little rain burst and they didn't even complain. The next hike we headed to see some volcano pits. It was about a mile in and lots of up and down trails. Sarah was our little leader.
After Snow Canyon we headed into town and stopped at the best ice cream place ever - the Iceberg. We enjoyed some shakes and ice cream cones. Lucky for us - Gary's parents and both sister's and family were there to watch Trevor in the Triathalon. So that evening we all headed to a park to enjoy pizza together. The kids had a great time playing at the playground. On Sunday we headed to Zion National Park for the day. We did several hikes with limited whining. We hiked the Emerald Pool Trails and ended up in the grotto where we had a nice picnic lunch.
Miss Katie was tired of sitting by that time so she just explored the area while we all rested and ate.
The next hike we did was to weeping rock. We saw a tree full of caterpillars and cocoons. It was really cool.
The final hike was to the base of the Narrows. At the top of our hike we let the kids play in the water. It was super cold but felt great on our feet after walking all day.
That night we met up with Gary's family again and had a nice dinner at Chili's. It was so fun to just hang out with them. We attempted the hotel's pool but it was too cold for me. So the kids and Gary enjoyed it while I enjoyed the hot tub. Another fun vacation!

Oh my, how fun. I miss those red rocks! You have such a great family, I love all the smiles. :)
Fun pics! I think we have a few looking through that little window when we were there too. You guys went at the right time. Clay is there now and it is 110 degrees. Miss you guys! How did Sarah's dance recital go?
